Hello Today i am going to share List Of 4K Content Available On Netflix (Series, Movies & Documentaries)
The evolution of video and its quality has been incredible, and how! From cinematographs to color TV to camcorders to DVDs to streaming in 4K, we’ve surely come a long way. Today, we’re able to watch a movie with CGI effects on a streaming site or access videos shared on social media platforms right on our smartphones. We’re so used to these technological leaps that we don’t even realize the amount of progress that has been made with regards to filming or video-formatting.
The latest talk of the video tech town is 4K UHD videos. Even though this resolution is now a common standard video standard in the movie projection industry, its yet to dominate ordinary households. Nonetheless, last year, the 4K TV market share shot up by significant margins. You might have heard of TV manufacturing companies, content producers, and even streaming sites promoting their products by reiterating the star feature – 4K videos, in all their advertising campaigns. But what exactly is 4K and how is it different from its predecessor?
Before we tell you all about the 4K content available on Netflix, let’s take a quick glance at this novel video resolution.
What is 4K Resolution?
If you thought 1080p videos were crisp, detailed and clear enough, you’re perhaps unaccustomed to 2160p or 4K ultra high-definition technology. 4K resolution has four times more the number of pixels and twice the horizontal & vertical resolution compared to its forbearer, HD. 4K resolution owes its name to the number of pixels seen horizontally, i.e. 4,000.
This new technology has marked a colossal improvement in terms of picture clarity. You’ll notice that 4K videos look more life-like and sharper compared to other low-quality videos. Isn’t that awesome?

Netflix’s 4K content is still quite limited compared to a few other streaming sites, especially under the movie category. Having said that, most of these titles are extremely well-rated on both, IMDB as well as Rotten Tomatoes. Moreover, Netflix is working diligently to expand this list for its subscribers so you’ll be able to watch many more titles under 4K very soon.
How to Find 4K Content on Netflix?
Finding 4K titles on the Netflix is no sweat. All you have to do is simply type in either “4K” or “UltraHD” in the search bar, located at the top right corner of the screen. It’ll pull up a page with all the shows and movies available in 4K resolution.
4K Streaming Prerequisites for Netflix:
Sure, you can enjoy all of this 4K content on Netflix in most of the countries, but you’ll need to boil the ocean before you can get started. Let us walk you through the conditions:
- Ensure that you have a 4K TV or media players that supports 4K/Ultra HD streaming from Netflix. Some of the compatible TV brands and devices include Hisense, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Insignia, Samsung, Nvidia Shield, Roku 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Sony, Toshiba, Xbox One S, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast Ultra, Vestel, and Vizio.
- Alternatively, you can also stream Netflix’s 4K content on a Windows computer with Microsoft Edge or Windows 10 App. However, the viewing experience may be compromised.
- You should be subscribed to Netflix’s topmost plan i.e. 4 Screens + Ultra HD, priced at $12 per month.
- You must have a steady internet connection with a minimum speed of 16 mbps, although Netflix suggests that their 4K content is best viewed at 25mbps.
The Upside of Subscribing to Netflix’s Highest Plan:
The biggest high point of the $12 plan is that you not only get to watch a massive collection of content in 4K but also get to stream on 4 screens at a time in a cost-efficient manner. Secondly, there’s not enough 4K content out there. Which means that Netflix and a few other streaming services are probably going to be your primary source of Ultra HD content. Thirdly, purchasing 4K Blu-Ray discs can work out to be quite expensive. So if you’ve upgraded to a 4K TV or are planning to do so, it only makes sense that you upgrade your Netflix subscription as well.
What If You Don’t Own a 4K TV?
You’ll always find a way to sneakily watch 4K content on a non-4K device. But that’s really not advisable. As far as Netflix is concerned, even though you can watch its 4K content on a Windows computer, the experience will not be the same.
The thing about 4K content is that you won’t be able to tell how sharp the video is or how different the quality is from HD unless you sit very close to your TV or have a 4K TV that’s 65+ inches in size and this is usually suitable for big rooms. Therefore, if you don’t need that big a TV, you definitely wouldn’t need 4K.
Another 4K snag is that since there’s not enough content available in this video resolution, the normal videos in standard definition or high definition may actually look worse than on your Full HD screens.
Will Netflix Offer HDR Content?
Yes, the good news is that Netflix has announced their plans of making some of the content available in HDR format. Selective seasons of Marco Polo and Daredevil will be the first ones available in HDR.
In case you’re not aware, HDR or High Dynamic Range is the latest technology in TV after 4K. HDR assures an excellent contrast ratio and more precise colors. This simply means that the video quality will be significantly better in terms of realness and clarity. Unlike 4K technology, HDR is not an exclusive video resolution type. Rather, it is an ancillary feature that come with HD and Ultra HD TVs. Netflix’s Chief Producing Officer commented that, “The future of TV is in better pixels, not just more of them.”
There’s another resolution available in the market called 8K Ultra HD, which has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution compared to 4K. However, there’s still a lot of time for this to hit the mainstream market and Netflix has no plans of introducing this format as of now.
